Ein police officer is during a deployment in Thuringian Apolda run over by a car and seriously injured. The alleged perpetrator, a 39-year-old, is fleeting, the police said on Friday.
According to the information, the 39-year-old had escaped from a police check. When the police finally stopped him and one of the officers approached the car, the man suddenly shifted into reverse and hit the officer. As a result, the policeman wanted to save himself. Thereupon, the driver, according to the information, reset again and drove over the official’s legs. Then he fled the scene.
The man was taken to the hospital with severe injuries. According to information from Friday morning, the police know the identity of the perpetrator and are currently searching for him.
